Summer holds some of the best childhood memories. Whether it was swimming with friends, riding bikes until the sun went down, drinking from the water hose, or catching lightning bugs, it was a time of pure joy. It was a time filled with long days, warm sunshine, and the freedom to simply be a kid. Now, our days are much busier. We get caught up in routine and the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
My hope to enjoy the feeling of summer is that each of us can take the time to savor the simple joys that come with this season of life. May we slow down and make time to play with our children outside, join with other families for cookouts, and mostly to just spend a few moments of peace in the early morning sunshine, reflecting on the beauty that God has surrounded us with.
“This is what the LORD says to me: “I will remain quiet and will look on from my dwelling place, like shimmering heat in the sunshine, like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.” Isaiah 18:4
